We Care Group - 19 October 2026
We Care Group and Summit Care Group are celebrating an exciting achievement after being shortlisted in four categories at this year’s National Care Awards, recognising the dedication, compassion and hard work of teams and individuals across both organisations.
The National Care Awards are among the UK care sector’s leading awards, celebrating excellence and recognising the providers, teams and individuals who go above and beyond to make a positive difference to the lives of those they care for.
This year, four finalists from across We Care Group and Summit Care Group have been recognised for their outstanding contributions, highlighting the commitment to high-quality, person-centred care that runs throughout both organisations.
Celebrating excellence across our groups
Summit Care Group has been named a finalist in the Care Group of the Year (Small) category, recognising its ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional care and support to residents.
The group’s Ashbourne Care Home in Dudley has also been shortlisted for Sustainable Care Home of the Year, celebrating its efforts to make a positive difference through a more sustainable approach to care.
Recognition also extends to two valued team members who make a difference every day.
Neil Todd, Regional Manager for the North East across both groups, has been shortlisted for Care Operations/Area Manager of the Year in recognition of his dedication to supporting homes and teams to deliver high standards of care.
Meanwhile, Grace Winstanley, from Douglas Bank Nursing Home in Wigan, part of We Care Group, has been named a finalist for Care Activities Co-ordinator of the Year. Her nomination celebrates the important role activities play in supporting residents’ wellbeing, enjoyment and quality of life.
Together, these four nominations reflect the dedication of colleagues at every level, from individual team members and home-based teams to regional leadership and the wider organisations.
A proud moment for both groups
For We Care Group and Summit Care Group, the nominations are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people who bring their shared values of family, honesty and respect to life every day.
Bernie Suresparan, founder and CEO of We Care Group and Summit Care Group, said:
“Our teams consistently work hard to keep standards high and deliver the very best for our residents, and to have this recognised by the National Care Awards is a huge achievement.
“It’s fantastic that we have finalists across the group, home, regional and individual team member levels, proving just how dedicated our teams are across the country. I’m wishing our finalists the very best of luck for the finals in November.”
Looking ahead to the awards ceremony
The winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony on Friday 6 November 2026, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
