Celebrating the Success of We Care Group at the Great British Care Awards Regional Finals
Not one, but two nights to remember for We Care Group as our exceptional staff shone at the Great British Care Awards (GBCA) regional finals, a prestigious event that celebrates excellence in social care across the UK. Representing We Care Group in the Yorkshire and Humber and North West regions, our team brought home well-deserved recognition and accolades for their dedication to providing outstanding care to older people.
We are immensely proud of everyone who was nominated and celebrate every team member who represented We Care Group at the GBCA. Each of these individuals and teams exemplifies the heart of our organisation.
Our regional finalists were:
- Amanda Jepson – The Dementia Carer Award
- Amy Cotton – Dementia Carer Award
- Charlotte Cole – Dignity in Care Award
- Christina Kay – Activity Organiser Award nominee
- Christopher Bunting – The Care Home Cook/Chef Award nominee
- Donna Lyons – The Care Home Registered Manager Award
- Jessy Gaskell – The Care Home Registered Manager Award nominee
- Kathryn Lincoln – Dignity in Care Award
- Saltshouse Haven Team – Finalist for the Care Home Team Award
- Sam Jacob – Nominated for the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award
- Shirley Friday – The Ancillary Worker Award nominee
- Simon Linaker – The Social Care Nurse Award nominee
- We Care Group – Finalist for the Care Home Employer Award
We extend special congratulations to Donna Lyons at Saltshouse Haven, who won the Care Home Registered Manager Award at the Yorkshire and Humber regional final. Donna’s leadership, commitment, and unwavering passion for resident wellbeing have been an inspiration across the We Care Group family, and we are thrilled to see her achievements recognised on this grand stage. Donna will now go through the grand final on 14th March 2025.
In addition to Donna’s win, we are delighted to celebrate Charlotte Cole, who was highly commended for the Dignity in Care Award. Charlotte’s compassion and dedication to upholding the dignity of every resident exemplify the values that define We Care Group. Her recognition at the GBCA is a true testament to her commitment to respectful and person-centred care to our residents.
Our heartfelt congratulations also go out to Amy Cotton and Kathryn Lincoln who were also both highly commended in the Dementia Carer Award and the Dignity in Care Award.
Both Amy and Kathryn have shown extraordinary sensitivity and expertise in supporting our residents at Saltshouse Haven and Sowerby House care homes, bringing warmth and understanding to their roles and the people around them. Their commendation is a proud achievement for We Care Group and highlights the excellence in dementia care within our organisation.
This year’s achievements are a true reflection of our staff’s talent, resilience, and commitment to delivering exceptional care.
