A Birkenhead Nursing Home Is Celebrating Being Shortlisted For Prestigious Care Awards

Staff, residents and relatives at Daleside Nursing Home, in Birkenhead, which is part of the We Care Group, are celebrating following the news that their home has been shortlisted for a prestigious, national care award.

Daleside Nursing Home, which provides nursing care as well as residential care for older people and people living with dementia, has been shortlisted for Care Team of the Year Award at the prestigious, national, Caring UK Awards.

The home has a great team spirit which was evidenced during COVID when, despite their fear and trepidation worked together as a team, following guidelines, at times pre-empting them, introducing routines and safety measures to keep residents and each other safe.  It also has a great reputation with professionals in the local area and is frequently chosen for ‘pilots’ in the area, which, although opening themselves up for scrutiny on every level, the team embrace.

Members of the team will be attending a glittering awards ceremony, hosted by Emmerdale actor Dean Andrews, at The Athena in Leicester on Thursday December 1 when the industry will gather to salute all that is great about the caring sector and recognise the amazing contribution it makes throughout the year and the winners will be announced.

A spokesperson Caring UK Awards said: “Never has there been a more appropriate time to recognise the amazing and selfless contribution that our carers make and how they have given so much to protect and care for their residents in the face of unprecedented challenges.”
