Enhancing Mealtimes with Apetito: A New Chapter in Care Catering

At We Care Group, we know just how important good food is to the wellbeing, dignity, and daily enjoyment of our residents. Mealtimes are not only about nutrition—they’re moments of comfort, community, and joy. However, like many providers in the care sector, we’ve experienced challenges in consistently recruiting skilled care caterers and meeting the increasingly diverse dietary requirements of those living in our homes.

To address this, we’ve taken proactive steps to enhance the mealtime experience by partnering with Apetito, a leading provider of nutritious, ready-prepared meals. This exciting partnership is now in place across three of our homes as part of a pilot initiative to ensure every resident receives delicious, balanced meals tailored to their specific health and cultural needs.

Founded in 1991, Apetito has grown to become a trusted name in care catering, serving NHS Trusts, care homes, and children’s nurseries across the UK. The company is part of the Wiltshire Farm Foods family, known for over three decades of delivering high-quality, home-style meals to people nationwide. Their commitment to flavour, variety, and nutritional integrity aligns perfectly with our values.

Since introducing Apetito into our selected homes, the feedback from residents, families, and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. From themed tasting sessions to mealtime improvements, we’ve seen first-hand how this partnership is enriching daily life. Residents have enjoyed the chance to sample a wide variety of meals—from hearty British classics to meals catering to specialist diets such as gluten-free, low-sugar, vegetarian and modified diets.
