Mahogany Care Home rated ‘good’ across the board!

Staff at Mahogany Care Home in Wigan are delighted to have been rated as ‘GOOD’, in all five areas, following a recent inspection.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited Mahogany Care Home, on Marsden Street, in April and published their report on 24th May.

Mahogany Care Home, which is part of the We Care Group, is a purpose-built care home specialising in providing residential and nursing care for up to 51 older people.

During the CQC visit Inspectors spoke with relatives who were complimentary about the home. Two visitors told them “The staff know what they are doing”. They said they had no complaints and the staff were “Very welcoming and transparent”.

Staff had also spoken positively about the culture at the home and told Inspectors that staff morale had improved considerably under the newly registered manager. They also told Inspectors that they felt supported and valued. One care assistant told them how she had recently been praised by the registered manager, Jessie Mathew, and this encouraged her.

Bernie Suresparan, We Care Group, Executive Chairman said “We’re very pleased to have received the recent CQC report for Mahogany Care Home which has given the home a GOOD rating”

The We Care Group, which has been operating for 15 years, is building a good reputation in the local area as part of its drive to be a care home provider of choice in the communities it serves.
