Celebrating Saltshouse Haven’s Success at the Great British Care Awards Regional Finals

Saltshouse Haven Care Home in Hull, part of We Care Group, is celebrating outstanding success at this year’s Yorkshire and Humber Regional Finals for the Great British Care Awards (GBCA). The event honours excellence across social care in the UK, and we are thrilled to share the accomplishments of two of our dedicated team members: Donna Lyons and Amy Cotton.

Donna Lyons, the Home Manager at Saltshouse Haven, was awarded the prestigious Care Home Registered Manager Award, a recognition of her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to resident care and wellbeing. Donna’s dedication to fostering a compassionate and supportive environment at Saltshouse Haven has been an inspiration to everyone within We Care Group. Winning this award highlights her outstanding contributions, and we are delighted that Donna will go on to represent the region at the national GBCA finals in March next year. Her work has not only elevated care standards at Saltshouse Haven but has also set a benchmark for excellence within the sector.

Alongside Donna’s remarkable achievement, we are also celebrating Amy Cotton, Bilton Unit Manager at Saltshouse Haven, who was a finalist in the Dementia Carer Award category. Amy’s work supporting residents living with dementia is marked by a deep sense of compassion, respect, and dedication. Reaching the final for such a meaningful award underscores Amy’s commitment to person-centred dementia care, and we are incredibly proud to have her as part of our team.

Beyond these two achievements, We Care Group is immensely proud of all our nominees across these regional finals. Each nominee embodies the values of family, honesty, and respect that define our organisation. Other finalists from We Care Group included inspiring individuals and teams who were nominated for awards in diverse categories, from outstanding contribution to social care to activity organisation, nursing, and care home cook and chef awards. Their nominations are a testament to the exceptional care provided by We Care Group staff every day.
