A West Indian Carnival in your Local Nursing Home

We Care Group, Brandon House Care home in Meanwood, Leeds held a Garden Party with a difference when they held their West Indian Carnival at the weekend.
The event, which was attended by Residents’, Relatives and members of the local community who came along to join in the fun, included a LIVE West Indies Band who entertained with music and songs that everyone could sing-a-long to and have a good old dance. There was a tombola and lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The Chef served up some amazing West Indian food which went down a treat with everyone, including the Residents.
Donna Hendrickson, Manager at Brandon Nursing Home said “It was disappointing that we couldn’t hold the Carnival in our lovely Dementia Garden, but the weather certainly didn’t spoil the fun.” She continued “It was wonderful to see so many people supporting our event and helping us raise funds for the benefit of our residents and above all have a fantastic day.”
Bernie Suresparan, Chief Executive Officer at We Care Group said “Well done to all the team at Brandon House, it sounds like the ‘West Indian Carnival’ was a great event.” He continued. “At We Care Group we encourage and support our homes to hold events like this that are open to the community so local people can see what the home has to offer and the wonderful events and activities we provide for the benefit of residents.”
The We Care Group, which has been operating since 2007, is building a good reputation in the local area as part of its drive to be care home provider of choice in the communities it serves.
