Wath-upon-Dearne Care Home receives Elite Food Hygiene Rating

Byron Lodge Care Home, which is situated in Wath-upon-Dearne, is celebrating following an inspection by the Environmental Health who have inspected the service and not only given them the highest Food Hygiene Rating of 5 Stars but also given them ELITE status award.

Byron Lodge Care Home, which is part of the We Care Group, was recently inspected by Environmental Health and was awarded a 5 Star Rating, for 5^th consecutive time making it eligible for an ELITE Award.

The Elite Award recognise food businesses and businesses that provide food on the premises, such as care homes who have consistently achieved the highest rating on three or more occasions. Any business that achieves this distinction can be proud of their achievement, whilst Consumers can have confidence in that Elite food businesses have a consistent hygiene record.

As Byron Lodge has received a 5 Star Rating on five consecutive occasions they have been recognised as OUTSTANDING which is an fantastic achievement.

The team at Byron Lodge works incredibly hard to provide residents with a wonderful varied menu, with all meals prepared with fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce taking into account the individual tastes and dietary needs of the people it cares for.

The home prides itself on their menus, which will satisfy even those with the smallest or most discerning of appetites; from breakfast through to dinner, residents can discover something different with fresh flavours and lovely, well-presented meals.

Their great chefs are always keeping themselves busy in the kitchen creating new and exciting dishes for everyone to enjoy, as well as freshly baked cakes for afternoon teas.

Lindsey Thawley, Manager at Byron Lodge Care Home said “It is wonderful to once again, receive the 5 Star Rating from Food Standards Agency, which is testament to the hard work of all the catering team.” She continued. “We had never heard of the ELITE Award before so were amazed to hear we had been awarded the highest accolade of OUTSTANDING. We have a fantastic team in our kitchen and we are all proud of their achievement.”
