We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jo Crossland to the We Care Group as our new Quality Director.
With over 30 years of experience as a registered general nurse, Jo has dedicated her career to working with older people. She spent her first decade in the care home sector before expanding her expertise by becoming a mental health nurse. Jo then transitioned to a mental health NHS trust, where she excelled in various roles, including acute assessment services and liaison psychiatry for older people with dementia.
In 2009, Jo joined the University of Bradford’s School of Dementia Studies as a Practice Development Consultant and Trainer. There, she played a pivotal role in delivering courses to care workers both nationally and internationally. Jo continued her journey of excellence in dementia care by joining Avery Healthcare in October 2016 as Head of Dementia Care.
Jo’s academic credentials are equally impressive. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Dementia Studies and an MSc in Dementia Care from the University of Bradford. Currently, she is in the final year of her part-time PhD at Leeds Beckett University, focusing on the experiences of family caregivers during the transition of a relative with dementia from home care.
Jo commented: “I am thrilled to have joined We Care Group as the new Quality Director. It is a privilege to be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional care for older people. I look forward to collaborating with the team to ensure we continue to uphold and enhance the high standards of care and compassion that We Care Group is known for.”
We are excited to welcome Jo to the We Care Group and look forward to the invaluable expertise and passion she will bring to our organisation.
